DefExpo India 2018
Sdyn participated in DefExpo India 2018, the 10th edition of the Ministry of Defence’s flagship biennial defence exhibition, held from April 11–14, 2018 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The event was themed “India: The Emerging Defence Manufacturing Hub”, highlighting the country’s growing capabilities and self-reliance in defence production.
We exhibited at Hall No. 6, Stall Nos. 6.8.35b and 6.8.35c, where we showcased our offerings to key stakeholders across the defence ecosystem.
DefExpo 2018 featured, for the first time, a combined live display of naval, aero, and land-based defence systems, reflecting the full spectrum of India’s defence capabilities. The exhibition attracted 671 exhibitors, including 517 Indian and 154 international companies, with around 15% of the exhibition space allocated to MSMEs—highlighting the growing role of smaller enterprises in the sector.
Leading Indian defence organizations and private sector giants such as Tata, L&T, Kalyani, Bharat Forge, Mahindra, DRDO, HAL, BEL, BDL, and BEML participated alongside major international players including Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Saab, Airbus, Rafael, Rosoboronexport, United Shipbuilding Corporation, BAE Systems, SIBAT, Wartsila, and Rhode & Schwarz. The event also saw the presence of 47 official delegations from various countries, including 13 at the Ministerial level, underscoring the global interest in India’s defence sector.
Sdyn’s participation at DefExpo 2018 underscored our commitment to advancing indigenous defence technologies and supporting the Make in India initiative in the strategic sector.
